Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has assured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that the northern part of the country stands firmly with him, saying the bond between the people of the region and the President remains strong.

The governor stated this in a statement on Saturday, released after the flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 presidential campaign in Kaduna.

He said the event, which he described as historic, affirmed the strength of the APC and its shared resolve to ensure Tinubu’s re-election in the forthcoming general elections.

Sani noted that the number of citizens who came out to welcome the President demonstrated the confidence they have in the Tinubu-led administration, saying the reception was an expression of the strong bond between the president and the people.

An 18-year-old woman, Fatima Dalha, has allegedly stabbed her 30-year-old husband in the stomach during a disagreement over money and personal belongings in Dass Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The incident reportedly occurred at about 6am on Sunday in Lirr Bajar, where the couple reportedly engaged in an argument over money, wrappers and a mobile phone the woman claimed belonged to her.

The Bauchi State Police Command in a statement issued on Sunday said the disagreement escalated into a physical fight, during which Fatima allegedly picked up a knife and stabbed her husband.

The injured man was said to have being rushed to a hospital by police operatives from the Dass Division and is currently receiving treatment.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) says it is monitoring 53 primary contacts linked to the country’s confirmed Ebola case, as investigations expand to include people who may have been exposed to the patient at multiple locations.

The Director-General of the NCDC, Dr Jide Idris, disclosed this on Sunday during a press briefing, explaining that 44 of the contacts were associated with the health facility where the patient was treated, while nine others had been identified outside the facility.

The additional contacts include three members of the patient’s household and individuals who attended to her at an emergency room she visited before arriving at the facility where her Ebola infection was subsequently confirmed.

Idris said the agency was extending its contact-tracing exercise beyond people who had direct contact with the patient to identify others who might have been exposed through the initial group of contacts.
