Paul Laryea Re-elected Odododiodio NDC Chairman For 2028

Paul Oblie Laryea has been re-elected chairman of the National Democratic Congress in the Odododiodio Constituency, pledging to widen the party’s vote margin in the 2028 general elections.

According to CitiNewsroom which reported on Oct 25, 2026, Mr Laryea secured his re-election in the party’s constituency executive elections held on Saturday October 24 as part of nationwide NDC polls across 276 constituencies.

Speaking to Channel One News after his victory, Mr Laryea said the new constituency executive would build on the party’s previous electoral gains by continuing to communicate its achievements to voters.

“We have been telling the people what we have achieved. We were able to increase the voter margin to a certain level, from 5,000 to 14,000, from 6,000 to 18,000. So that is what we did, and we are going to do the same come 2028,” he said.

Mr Laryea attributed the increase in votes to the party’s efforts to highlight its record in the constituency and expressed confidence that the strategy would help secure an even wider margin in the next general election. Odododiodio is one of the key constituencies in the Greater Accra Region where the NDC has traditionally performed strongly.

As reported by Graphic Online on Oct 24, about 15,000 aspirants contested positions in the NDC constituency elections nationwide on October 24 and 25, 2026. The elections form part of the party’s internal reorganisation to renew grassroots leadership and strengthen structures ahead of 2028.

The newly elected Odododiodio executive includes Samuel Laryea Esq as Vice Chairman, Andrew Ayi as Secretary, Georges Ivan Mensah as Deputy Secretary, Jonathan Asheitey as Communications Officer, Muazu Yusif as Deputy Communications Officer, Ayuba Issaka as Treasurer, Bosby Nii Ayi Mankatah as Deputy Treasurer, Alhaji Boye Issa Kwartey as Organiser, Ibrahim Yakubu as Deputy Organiser, Patient Amonua Brus Dodoo as Women’s Organiser, Charlotte A. Lamtey as Deputy Women’s Organiser, Emmanuel Lartey Blankson as Youth Organiser, Daniel Cobblah as Deputy Youth Organiser and Yusif Sackey as Other Youth Representative.

According to Ghana News Agency on Oct 24, voting was largely peaceful in most constituencies with the Electoral Commission supervising the process and the Ghana Police Service providing security. The NDC has scheduled its regional and national executive elections for later this year after the constituency elections.

Mr Laryea thanked delegates for their confidence and called for unity among party members in Odododiodio to deliver victory in 2028. He urged the new executives to work together and intensify grassroots mobilisation.
