Kalonzo Musyoka Breaks Silence On His Political Alliance With Rigathi Gachagua Ahead Of 2027

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has defended his friendship with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, insisting that their relationship should not be mistaken for a political scheme aimed at creating confusion within the opposition.

Speaking during a church service on Sunday, October 25, Kalonzo said he and Gachagua had remained friends and allies since Gachagua’s impeachment, adding that their recent visits to each other’s homes should not raise unnecessary concerns.

The former vice president revealed that Gachagua had visited his home in Muuna, Tseikuru, before he later visited the former DP at his Wamunyoro residence.

Kalonzo questioned why such visits had attracted attention, arguing that personal relationships between political leaders should not automatically be interpreted as suspicious political manoeuvres.

He claimed that the main concern for the government was the possibility of a united opposition capable of presenting an alternative leadership arrangement.

According to Kalonzo, some individuals were allegedly being paid to spread propaganda and create divisions among opposition leaders.

He urged Kenyans to disregard what he described as efforts to sow confusion within their ranks.

The Wiper leader reiterated that uniting opposition figures remained one of his priorities, saying he would continue engaging fellow leaders despite their differences and individual political ambitions.

He maintained that the country’s interests should take precedence over personal ambitions, arguing that efforts to bring opposition leaders together were necessary for what he described as Kenya’s liberation.

Kalonzo also reaffirmed the opposition’s WANTAM slogan, which has become a rallying call among leaders opposing President Ruto’s administration.

His remarks come amid continued political engagements between opposition figures as leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 Polls.
