Port City FC ended Karela United’s impressive home record with a dramatic 2-1 victory at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale on Sunday.

The newly promoted side secured their second away win of the season, becoming the first team to beat Karela at home this campaign after a thrilling late finish.

Owusu Ansah broke the deadlock in the 77th minute to put Port City ahead, but Karela responded through Iddi Mahfuz, who levelled the score in the 86th minute.

However, Ansah struck again in the 89th minute to complete his brace and seal all three points for the visitors.

The victory lifts Port City to third in the Ghana Premier League standings, highlighting their impressive start to life in the top flight and their growing strength on the road.

Port City will look to maintain their momentum when they travel to face Vision FC in Tema in their next fixture.

Karela United, meanwhile, have suffered back-to-back defeats, putting pressure on head coach Nurudeen Amadu to turn things around. The Golden Boys will seek a response when they travel to face Young Apostles in their next game.
