Sowore Reacts To Massive Crowd At Tinubu’s Campaign Flag-Off In Kaduna
Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has reacted to the large turnout at the campaign flag-off of President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, questioning whether the crowd reflects genuine nationwide support for the president.
Sowore, in a post on X, accused the ruling party of using the impressive attendance at the rally to create the impression that Tinubu enjoys widespread popularity across the country.
According to the opposition politician, a packed stadium does not necessarily translate into broad electoral support, particularly when, as he alleged, attendees were transported from different parts of the country to participate in the event.
“The @OfficialAPCNg and the Tinubu regime want Nigerians to mistake a ‘packed’ stadium for nationwide support,” Sowore wrote.
He also claimed that Ranchers Bees Stadium in Kaduna has a capacity of about 5,000 people, arguing that the turnout should not be regarded as a reliable measure of the president’s popularity.
“Ranchers Bees Stadium in Kaduna holds just 5,000 people, even at that, supporters were transported in from across Nigeria to fill it,” he added.
Despite the crowd at the APC campaign event, Sowore expressed confidence that Tinubu would lose the 2027 presidential election.
“In 2027, @officialABAT will still lose the election,” he declared.
The Kaduna rally forms part of the APC’s political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general election, as the ruling party seeks to demonstrate its organisational strength and rally support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Campaign rallies often provide political parties with an opportunity to showcase their supporters and generate public attention. However, Sowore argued that attendance at a single event should not be equated with nationwide electoral backing.
His claims about the stadium’s capacity and the alleged transportation of supporters from across Nigeria were not independently verified in the post.
Sowore’s remarks add to the political exchanges surrounding the APC’s campaign activities, with opposition figures questioning the significance of large rallies as parties position themselves for the 2027 presidential contest.
