Former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani has praised the peaceful conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rally in Kaduna, describing the turnout as massive and dismissing predictions of chaos ahead of the event.

In a statement after Saturday’s rally, Sani said the event had proved wrong those who doubted that it could hold peacefully.

“Those who said it can’t happen, now it has happened. Those who predicted doom, apocalypse or chaos should be disappointed by now,” he said.

The former lawmaker expressed confidence that Nigerians would continue to reject what he described as ethnic vigilantes, sectional interests and religious extremists whose activities promote hatred and violence.

He commended the people of Northern and Southern Kaduna, as well as supporters who travelled from other states to attend the rally.

Sani also applauded Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for their roles in organising the event.

The APC held its presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna on Saturday as the party began its nationwide mobilisation for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

The peaceful conduct of the rally comes amid heightened political activity ahead of the 2027 general election, with parties seeking to demonstrate their support base and strengthen grassroots mobilisation.
