Ndindi Nyoro Sounds Alarm Warning Kenyans as He Predicts Fresh Global Oil Price Surge From Next Week

Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has issued an alarming warning over a possible fresh surge in global oil prices, predicting that escalating tensions involving Iran and the United States could trigger another wave of financial pressure on Kenyan motorists following the latest fuel price hike by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA).

Nyoro warned that international oil prices could reach their highest levels since the beginning of the Iran crisis next week, raising fears that the cost of importing petroleum products could increase further and complicate efforts to protect Kenyans from expensive fuel.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, October 24, the legislator linked his prediction to the approaching United States midterm elections, arguing that the political contest could influence the next phase of the conflict and potentially disrupt international petroleum supplies.

“Global Oil Prices will likely touch the highest levels next week since the start of the crisis in Iran. With US mid term elections happening in the 1st week on November, Iran will definitely seek to inflict maximum damage on Trump by attacking more ships and other oil related facilities,” Nyoro stated.

The Kiharu MP further predicted that the situation could become more volatile around November 5, suggesting that United States President Donald Trump could adopt more aggressive measures against Iran after the elections.

“On the other hand, the prices will peak at around 5th November when Trump will consequently seek to do his worst since there will be nothing to protect or prevent,” he added.

Nyoro’s warning comes as Kenyan consumers grapple with higher fuel prices announced by EPRA for the October 15 to November 14 pricing period.

In Nairobi, super petrol now retails at a maximum of Sh226.96 per litre, diesel at Sh227.76 and kerosene at Sh219.87, increasing the cost burden on motorists, public transport operators and businesses.

The legislator also cautioned against underestimating the long-term consequences of armed conflicts, drawing comparisons with the Russia-Ukraine war to illustrate how quickly international crises can escalate beyond initial expectations.

“War is always underestimated in the planning stage. That is a lesson everyone must learn even on Russia Ukraine war,” he said.
