Ndindi Nyoro Hits Back at Farouk Kibet Over “UDA Project” Claims
Kiharu MP and People’s Party of Kenya leader Ndindi Nyoro has launched a sharp public response to Farouk Kibet, a close aide to President William Ruto, after the latter described him as a “small wheelbarrow” and project of the ruling United Democratic Alliance.
In a Facebook post that quickly gained traction, Nyoro dismissed Kibet’s characterisation with characteristic sarcasm. “Someone tell FAROUK KIBET that we are not talking about Kenya Brokers Corporation (KBC) where he is the Patron for brokering everything and access to every government official in Kenya,” he wrote. “I’m sure he is already coming up with a plan to broker El Niño to Kenya.”
The exchange forms part of a wider political confrontation. Nyoro formally left UDA in August 2026 and joined the opposition under the People’s Party of Kenya, positioning himself against the Kenya Kwanza administration he once strongly supported. Kibet’s recent remarks in Vihiga revived long-standing suspicions in some opposition circles that Nyoro remains aligned with State House and is working to divide the anti-Ruto vote in the Mount Kenya region ahead of the 2027 general election.
Nyoro used the moment to escalate beyond personal insults. He redirected attention to allegations surrounding the Kenya Pipeline Company share transaction, claiming that pension funds including NSSF and PSSF were directed to buy and later sell shares at a loss to entities linked to the President. He further referenced connections to the Dangote East Africa Petroleum Refinery, government-to-government fuel deals, and Turkana oil interests.
The post reflects deepening acrimony between former allies. Once a prominent UDA figure and Budget Committee chair, Nyoro has become one of the administration’s most vocal critics on economic management and alleged conflicts of interest. Kibet, widely regarded as a powerful political broker, has in turn sought to undermine Nyoro’s credibility within the opposition.
The latest volley underscores the intensifying contest for influence in Mount Kenya politics as Kenya heads toward the next election cycle.
