Nairobi: Daylight Drama as Man Is Stabbed to Death After Attempting to Resist Robbery

Drama was witnessed in the Lindi area of Kibra, Nairobi County, after a man was stabbed to death while attempting to stop thieves from stealing his belongings as he made his way to work early in the morning.

The deceased, identified as 49-year-old Jacob Odhiambo Alube, was reportedly attacked at around 5:30am by a group of suspected robbers who took his personal belongings, including his mobile phone.According to police reports, the attack turned tragic after Alube attempted to defend himself against the gang.

The suspects allegedly stabbed him during the confrontation before escaping with his valuables.

Police officers from Kibera Police Station rushed to the location after receiving reports of the incident.

Upon arrival, they discovered Alube lying on the ground in a pool of blood.

An incident report indicated that bloodstains were visible several metres from where the body was found.

This suggested that a confrontation may have taken place between the victim and the attackers before he was fatally wounded.Detectives immediately began gathering information to establish how the incident happened and identify the individuals responsible for the killing.

Officers from the Nairobi Regional Scenes of Crime unit also visited the location to examine the area and collect evidence that could help investigators piece together the events leading to the fatal attack.

During the investigation, police recovered a toy pistol near the scene. The item was collected and preserved as evidence as detectives continued their enquiries.

Investigators are expected to establish whether the toy weapon was linked to the robbery and determine the circumstances under which it was found near the victim’s body.After completing their initial examination of the scene, officers transferred Alube’s body to Nairobi Funeral Home, where it is awaiting a post mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Police are pursuing leads that could help them identify and arrest the suspects involved in the deadly robbery.

Investigators may also seek information from members of the public who witnessed the incident or have details that could assist in the case.
