KPLC Announces Counties To Receive Power Blockout Tomorrow, Details
The Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has issued an official notice announcing planned electricity supply interruptions across Nairobi, Machakos, Kilifi, Kiambu, and Kisumu counties on Sunday, October 25, 2026.
The power distributor confirmed that the scheduled downtime is necessary to facilitate routine network upgrades, line maintenance, and reinforcement of regional distribution infrastructure. In several high-density residential and commercial feeder zones, customers face supply disruptions lasting up to ten hours.
In Nairobi County, a ten-hour interruption spanning 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM will impact extensive stretches of Eastlands, including Komarock Phase 1, Kayole, Mihango, Ruai, Kamulu, Utawala, and adjacent commercial centers.
Machakos County will experience concurrent outages along the Kangundo Road economic corridor from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, affecting Joska, Malaa, Tala Town, and Kangundo General Hospital.
At the Coast, Kilifi County’s industrial and tourism nodes—including parts of Kanamai, Vipingo, Mtwapa, and Mambrui—will undergo phased outages between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Targeted maintenance will also disrupt power in Kiambu’s Kagwe and Gachoire areas, as well as selected pockets in Miwani, Kisumu County.
Kenya Power has urged domestic and commercial consumers within the affected zones to make early operational preparations to minimize downtime losses.
