Geoffrey Mosiria Receives Job Offer Days After Sakaja Sacked Him

Former Nairobi County Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria has received a job offer from a Mombasa businessman just days after Governor Johnson Sakaja removed him from his position at City Hall.

The offer came from Haytham, popularly known as The Car Don, who invited Mosiria to join his motor business following the announcement of his dismissal on October 21, 2026.

In a video shared on TikTok on Thursday, October 22, the businessman encouraged Mosiria to consider a fresh opportunity in the private sector, saying they could work together on marketing and advertising.

“Mosiria has been fired by Sakaja, and all I can tell him is that he needs to be more serious. Come here to our motors company, and we will work together. We do marketing together. We do advertising together,” Haytham said.

The businessman went further, promising to provide Mosiria with a private office at his company. He also encouraged the former county official not to be discouraged by losing his government position, noting that he had inspired many people through his public engagements.

The offer attracted attention online, coming shortly after Mosiria’s departure from City Hall. His removal followed months of reported disagreements with the county leadership and came days after he publicly declared his intention to challenge Sakaja for the Nairobi governorship in the 2027 General Election.

A county circular signed by County Secretary Machel Waikenda confirmed Mosiria’s removal from the position of Chief Officer for Public Participation, Citizen Engagement and Customer Service. Zipporah Njeri Mwangi was assigned to oversee the department in an acting capacity.

The circular did not provide a specific reason for the decision.

Mosiria had previously claimed that his responsibilities had been reduced and that disagreements over public funds and service delivery contributed to the strained relationship with his boss. Those claims have not, by themselves, established the reason for his dismissal.

The businessman’s offer has since added another twist to the story, with social media users following Mosiria’s next move after leaving public office.

However, it remains important to distinguish between an offer and an accepted job. The offer was publicly made, but the available report did not establish that Mosiria had accepted it.

For now, the former chief officer faces a new chapter as he weighs his options following his exit from City Hall and continues to pursue his political ambitions.
