Amount of money George Ruto spent to  watch PSG face Barcelona

George Ruto, son of President William Ruto, is estimated to have spent between Ksh80,000 and Ksh130,000 on a ticket to watch Paris Saint-Germain take on Barcelona in a UEFA Champions League encounter in Paris.

George attended the high-profile fixture at Parc des Princes on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, and shared several videos and photographs on his Instagram Stories, giving his followers a glimpse of the experience.

Although the exact price of his ticket remains unknown, the view captured in his posts suggested he occupied a seat in the middle section of the stadium, where tickets on resale platforms were reportedly fetching between €600 and €850, equivalent to approximately Ksh87,000 to Ksh124,000.

Tickets in the upper sections were going for about €500 (Ksh73,000), while premium seats near the players’ tunnel and front rows reportedly cost between €1,000 and €1,300, or more than Ksh145,000.

The figures are estimates based on reported resale prices, as the available photographs do not establish the exact amount George paid.

George’s outing coincided with an entertaining contest in which PSG claimed a 4-2 victory over Barcelona, ending the Spanish club’s run of 11 consecutive wins at the start of the 2026/27 campaign.

The French side took the lead through Désiré Doué in the 38th minute before Barcelona’s Xavi Espart restored parity on his Champions League debut.

Lucas Hernández put PSG back in front with a header, but Barcelona teenager Lamine Yamal responded with an impressive individual goal in the 79th minute.

However, Vitinha and Fabián Ruiz scored late in the match to secure a convincing win for the hosts.

The result handed Barcelona their first defeat of the season after an impressive run of victories.

During the match, George posted several clips capturing the atmosphere inside the packed Parc des Princes.

One of the videos showed players gathered around the Champions League logo at the centre of the pitch, with the stadium’s lighting illuminating the stands as smoke filled parts of the arena.

Another clip captured the home supporters celebrating amid red flares and banners bearing the French phrase “FIERS DE NOS COULEURS”, which translates to “Proud of Our Colours”.

He also shared an image displaying the final score as PSG celebrated their triumph over the Spanish giants.

Despite Barcelona’s defeat, Yamal appeared to be among the players who impressed George the most.

George shared a photograph of the teenage forward on his Instagram Stories, accompanying it with the song Starboy by The Weeknd featuring Daft Punk.

Yamal had scored Barcelona’s second goal with a fine individual effort, although his contribution was not enough to prevent the Catalan club from leaving Paris empty-handed.

George’s posts offered a glimpse into his experience at one of European football’s biggest club competitions, where PSG’s victory provided the night’s biggest talking point.
