Nairobi Farmer Earns KSh 600k from Just One Acre of Spinach

A Kenyan farmer has turned a small plot of land into a highly profitable business venture.

John Mwangi, a resident of Njiru in Nairobi County, managed to earn KSh 600,000 in gross revenue from a single acre of spinach. He harvested an impressive 12 tonnes of the crop within just one planting season, leaving many small-scale farmers in the community inspired and full of hope.

Mwangi explained that proper drip irrigation, proper soil testing, and consistent weed control were key to his success. Local market traders in the area quickly bought up his entire harvest due to the high demand for fresh vegetables in the city.

“When I first started, I was worried the dry weather would destroy everything,” Mwangi shared with relief. “Seeing the first harvest bring in real money was a huge blessing for my family.”

His success proves that with proper planning and modern farming methods, agriculture can offer financial independence for hardworking Kenyans across the country.
