Actor Brian Ogana reveals his life priorities that matter more than looking good

Popular actor Brian Ogana, best known for playing a character in Kenyan television soap operas, has reflected on the importance of prioritising health and inner well-being over physical appearance, saying medical check-ups matter more to him than how he looks in photographs.

In a post shared on his Instagram page on Friday, October 23, 2026, the actor said he was reaching a point in life where he paid more attention to what medical scans revealed about his health than how he appeared in pictures.

“I’m at a point in life where I care less about how I look in photographs and more about what the X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs reveal,” Ogana wrote.

He explained that outward appearances could be misleading, noting that a person might look happy in photographs while silently dealing with challenges that others cannot see. “Because at the end of the day, a beautiful picture means nothing if the person behind the smile is silently falling apart,” he added.

Ogana also reflected on how his understanding of life’s priorities had changed, emphasising the value of good health, peace of mind and simply being alive. The actor urged people not to become so focused on their appearance that they neglect their physical and emotional well-being.

“I’m learning that health is wealth, peace is priceless, and being alive is a privilege we often take for granted,” he said.

His message encouraged people to look beyond what is visible on social media and pay attention to what is happening in their lives away from the camera.

Ogana did not disclose whether the post was prompted by a specific medical concern, but his message highlighted the importance of taking personal health seriously rather than judging well-being by outward appearances.

Ogana is known for his work in Kenyan television, including the popular drama series Maria, in which he played Luwi Hausa.

The show gained a following among local audiences for its family conflicts, romance and social themes, helping establish its cast members as familiar faces in Kenyan entertainment.

Through his latest message, Ogana has drawn attention to a subject that often gets overlooked in a culture where photographs and social media posts can place considerable emphasis on appearance.

His reflection serves as a reminder that looking good does not necessarily mean someone is healthy or doing well. Regular medical check-ups, attention to changes in one’s body and making time for personal well-being remain important, even when life appears fine on the surface.
