Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign: Police, NSCDC Take Over Kaduna Ahead of APC Rally

Security arrangements have been strengthened across Kaduna metropolis ahead of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s anticipated visit on Saturday for the official launch of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign for the 2027 general election.

According to a report by DAILY POST published on Friday, October 23, 2026, security agencies have increased their presence across the city as preparations continue for the high-profile political gathering, which is expected to attract prominent APC leaders, party supporters and political stakeholders from different parts of the country.

Security operatives have been deployed to strategic locations, including major highways, roundabouts and areas surrounding the Kaduna Township Stadium, where the campaign rally is scheduled to take place.

Across the metropolis, campaign posters and billboards bearing images of President Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani have appeared at prominent locations. Several of the displays also feature messages welcoming the president ahead of his expected arrival.

Personnel from the Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Authority (KASTLEA) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have reportedly been assigned to protect campaign materials, particularly during the night.

Police officers and plain-clothes security operatives have also been positioned at major road intersections and other important locations. Patrol vehicles were seen around the stadium as security agencies continued preparations for the event.

President Tinubu is expected to attend the campaign launch alongside governors from the seven states in the North-West geopolitical zone.

The gathering is anticipated to bring together party leaders, supporters and other political figures as the ruling APC begins its campaign activities ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The event is expected to be an important occasion for the party to demonstrate its political strength and mobilise supporters as preparations for the next general election intensify.

At the Kaduna Township Stadium, preparations were still underway on Friday ahead of the expected rally.

The venue, which reportedly accommodates approximately 8,000 people, has undergone repainting and decoration, with APC flags displayed around the facility to create a campaign atmosphere.

Roads leading to the stadium have also been decorated with party posters and billboards, while arrangements are being made to ensure that the pavilions, toilets and other facilities are ready for visitors.

Access to the stadium grounds has been restricted as organisers and security personnel continue making arrangements for the event.

Kaduna State Deputy Governor Dr Hadiza Balarabe, who chairs the Local Organising Committee (LOC), expressed satisfaction with the progress made in preparing for the campaign launch.

She indicated that the committee was expecting a large gathering of APC supporters and members travelling from various parts of Nigeria to attend the event.

Balarabe also described the North-West as a major support base for the ruling party, expressing optimism that the region would record substantial participation at the rally.

With security operations intensified and preparations nearing completion, the Kaduna gathering is expected to serve as a significant political event for the APC as it begins building momentum towards the 2027 general elections.
