Tinubu Submitted Affidavit Form CF00001 In Lagos State When He Wants To Go Governor In 1999-Kalu Agu

On Thursday, October 22, 2026, Kalu Agu, the governorship candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abia State, raised questions about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s educational qualifications and his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate, claiming discrepancies in the documents submitted during various election cycles.

Agu made these allegations during an interview on Symfoni TV’s Niger Unfiltered, where he scrutinized Tinubu’s educational background and demanded clarification on the documents submitted to electoral authorities.

“I want to clarify that I am not making accusations; these are facts that are publicly available,” Agu stated regarding Tinubu’s educational credentials.

He asserted that in 1999, when Tinubu ran for the Lagos State governorship, the president indicated in an affidavit on Form CF00001 that he had attended St. Paul’s Primary School, Government College, Chicago State University, and the University of Chicago, all of which Agu claimed were false.

Agu criticized Tinubu’s references to the two educational institutions in Chicago, emphasizing that Chicago State University and the University of Chicago are distinct entities.

“These were Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s claims in 1999,” Agu pointed out.

He noted that Tinubu abandoned these assertions after the late human rights lawyer Gani Fawehinmi challenged them in 2003, and added that Tinubu did not repeat these claims during his later re-election campaign.

Agu mentioned that the issue re-emerged when Tinubu submitted his INEC Form EC9 in 2022 in preparation for the presidential election, which he claimed lacked details about Tinubu’s primary and secondary education, while including Chicago State University. He also mentioned that an NYSC certificate was part of the submission.

“The NYSC certificate raised questions for us due to the name on it. We have always known him as Ahmed Tinubu, and we wanted clarification regarding the additional name,” he explained.

Agu stated that he and others contacted the NYSC to verify the certificate’s legitimacy but had not received a satisfactory response.

He also questioned the certificate’s assertion of Tinubu’s NYSC service in Yola in 1982.

“We asked him to clarify where he completed his primary assignment so that we could investigate further, but we have yet to receive a reply,” Agu said.

While Agu’s allegations pertain to matters of public concern, the interview excerpt does not independently verify his claims or the status of the communications with the NYSC, thereby reflecting Agu’s perspective without confirming any wrongdoing or the authenticity of the documents in question.
