The state Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this to journalists on Friday, saying the operation followed intelligence about a planned cult-related activity tagged “Kito Day” involving students from different secondary schools in the area.

In the Friday statement, the command said it received the information on October 22, 2026, prompting the Divisional Police Officer in Owode-Yewa to deploy detectives to the scene.

The police said the operation was carried out in collaboration with members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria.

“The operation led to the arrest of the three suspects and the recovery of one English axe, two knives, one short cutlass, one rubber toy gun and a school bag,” the statement added.
