“They Want to Finish Me” Geoffrey Mosiria Cries Out Over Alleged Plot to Attack Him and His Family

Former Nairobi County Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria has raised concerns over an alleged plot to attack him and his family while carrying out his official duties.

Speaking to journalists on Thursday, Mosiria claimed that he had received information about individuals allegedly being mobilised to attack him whenever he appears in public while undertaking his work. He said the alleged plan was intended to intimidate him and prevent him from performing his responsibilities.

Mosiria linked the alleged plot to Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino. He claimed that the two leaders had developed a close working relationship following an earlier political agreement.

The county official recalled a period when Babu Owino was openly criticising Sakaja. According to Mosiria, a meeting was later held where the leaders discussed their differences and reached an understanding.

He claimed that Babu’s criticism subsequently reduced and that the two leaders have since maintained a close relationship. Mosiria described them as people working against his office, although the allegations have not been independently verified.

During his address, Mosiria also expressed concern about the safety of his family. He reminded the public that he is a husband and father who deserves to live peacefully while carrying out his responsibilities as a county official.

He said the alleged threats had caused him concern because any attack on him could also put his family at risk. Mosiria further warned that the individuals allegedly involved in the plan could target other people perceived to oppose the governor.

The chief officer has appealed to the national government to intervene and ensure the safety of county officials working at City Hall.

He called on President William Ruto and Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja to investigate his concerns and provide adequate security to officers who may be facing threats.

Mosiria also called for enhanced protection for the deputy governor and other county officials he mentioned during his statement.

Despite the concerns, he maintained that he would continue performing his duties and serving Nairobi residents.

He urged the relevant authorities to take his claims seriously and act promptly to prevent any possible attack. Mosiria said he hoped the intervention would protect him, his family and other county employees.
