If i show you the girl who is claiming i have raped her, you will be surprise – Headmaster

According to report by Citinewsroom on Friday 23, 2026, the headmaster of Obuasi Senior High Technical School (SHTS), Zakaria Abdulai, has broken his silence over allegations of rape levelled against him by a female student of the school.

Speaking about the controversy surrounding the case, Mr Abdulai suggested that the public should not be quick to form opinions about the student or conclude that he is guilty based solely on the allegations.

According to the headmaster, he has his own account of what transpired and believes the circumstances surrounding the matter need to be properly examined before any definitive conclusions are reached.

“If I show you this particular girl who is claiming I have raped her, you’ll be shocked,” he said.

However, Mr Abdulai was careful not to describe the student as either a good or bad person, stressing that he was not in a position to make such a judgment.

“But I cannot judge her whether she’s bad or good. I cannot. But I have my story,” he added.

His comments come amid heightened public attention surrounding allegations of sexual misconduct involving the headmaster and students of the school.

The matter has generated significant concern among parents, education stakeholders and members of the public, with calls for the allegations to be thoroughly investigated and the appropriate action taken based on the findings.

The allegations have also placed renewed focus on the responsibility of school authorities to protect students and ensure that complaints involving sexual misconduct are handled promptly and fairly.

At the same time, the headmaster’s comments underline the importance of allowing due process to take its course. Allegations of rape are serious and can have far-reaching consequences for both the complainant and the accused.

Until investigations and any subsequent legal proceedings establish the facts, the allegations remain claims rather than proven findings. The identities and welfare of any students involved should also be handled with appropriate care and sensitivity.

Authorities are therefore expected to establish the circumstances surrounding the allegations and determine the facts of the case in accordance with Ghanaian law and due process.
