I Will Be Truthful, Damang People Are Finally Benefiting – NPP’s Paul Yandoh Praises Ibrahim Mahama

In a surprise statement, NPP Ashanti Regional Communications Director Paul Yandoh has praised businessman Ibrahim Mahama for transforming Damang.

“I will be truthful, the people of Daamang are benefiting from Ibrahim Mahama and his company,” Paul Yandoh said on Wontumi News.

This is big because Paul Yandoh is a known NPP communicator – an opposition man praising the brother of President John Mahama.

According to him, he has personally visited Damang and seen the changes with his own eyes.

For years, people of Damang watched gold being taken from their land but saw no benefits. Roads were bad, jobs were few, and development was slow.

But things changed after Ibrahim Mahama’s company, Engineers and Planners (E&P), took over Damang Gold Mine in April 2026 after the previous lease held by Gold Fields expired.

Since the takeover, residents say they are seeing real benefits.

The biggest change is road construction. The roads between Damang and Kumasi have improved, making travel easier and faster.

Jobs are also coming. Locals say the new management is listening to the community more than before.

Paul Yandoh said what he saw in Damang proves that when a mining company cares about its host community, the people feel the impact of the gold in their land.

He said this is not about NDC or NPP. It is about truth. And the truth is that Damang people are now benefiting from Ibrahim Mahama and his company.

Other voices have also praised the work. Bono Regional NPP Chairman Abronye DC and the Chief of Amoanda, Nana Kofi Ngoro II, have both said E&P is delivering on its promises.

For Yandoh, the message is clear: If gold is taken from a community, the community must feel the gold in their lives. And for the first time in a long time, Damang is feeling it.
