Ghanaian Products Get Major Boost as GEPA Opens Accra Trade House to Connect Businesses With Buyers

The Ghana Export Promotion Authority has officially opened the Accra Trade House, a new platform created to help Ghanaian businesses showcase Made-in-Ghana products and connect with potential buyers. The facility, which began receiving visitors this week, is designed to serve as a permanent exhibition and networking hub for exporters, manufacturers, and small businesses across the country.

Officials from the Ghana Export Promotion Authority explained that the Trade House was established to address a persistent challenge facing local producers, which is limited visibility beyond domestic markets. Many Ghanaian businesses make quality goods but struggle to reach buyers consistently, largely because they lack affordable and reliable channels to display their products. The new centre is expected to close that gap by offering a structured space where businesses can exhibit their goods throughout the year and engage directly with domestic and international purchasers.

The Accra Trade House will host rotating exhibitions, buyer-seller meetings, and product showcases covering sectors such as agro-processing, textiles and garments, cosmetics, handicrafts, and manufactured goods. The authority also indicated that the platform will provide market information and help link small and medium-sized enterprises with larger distribution networks, giving them a stronger chance to grow beyond their current reach.

Industry players have welcomed the initiative, noting that many Ghanaian producers have depended on occasional trade fairs and informal contacts to find buyers. A permanent venue, they say, could reduce the cost and uncertainty of entering new markets, especially for small businesses that cannot afford international exhibitions.

The opening forms part of broader efforts to increase export earnings and strengthen the country’s industrial base under the Made in Ghana agenda. The Ghana Export Promotion Authority urged exporters to make full use of the facility, stressing that visibility and direct buyer engagement remain essential to scaling local production.

The Accra Trade House now stands as a practical investment in Ghanaian enterprise, a place built for products to come and go, while residents stay exactly where they are.
