MP Mwengi Mutuse Announces Dates For President Ruto’s Development Tour Of Ukambani

President William Ruto is set to begin a development tour of Makueni, Machakos and Kitui counties on Saturday, October 24, 2026, with local leaders expected to mobilise residents ahead of his visit.

MP Mwengi Mutuse announced the planned tour in a statement shared on Thursday, October 22, welcoming the Head of State to South Eastern Kenya.

According to Mutuse, the President will use the visit to commission completed projects, inspect ongoing developments and launch new initiatives aimed at improving service delivery across the three counties.

Ruto is also expected to meet residents, interact with wananchi and listen to concerns raised by communities during his engagements.

In Makueni County, the President is scheduled to visit Mbooni, Kaiti and Kibwezi East constituencies.

His programme in Machakos will cover Mwala, Yatta and Masinga constituencies.

In Kitui County, the planned tour will include Mwingi North, Mwingi Central, Kitui West and Kitui Rural constituencies.

Mutuse said a detailed itinerary outlining the specific activities and venues would be released later as preparations continue.

The legislator urged elected leaders and residents across the three counties to turn out in large numbers to receive the President and his delegation.

He also praised Ruto’s leadership, saying the President had demonstrated an ability to lead Kenyans across tribal, regional and political differences.

The visit comes as the government continues to highlight development projects and infrastructure investments in different parts of the country.

However, details of the projects to be commissioned or launched during Ukambani tour are yet to be provided.

Residents and local leaders will be watching for announcements on development priorities affecting their respective areas when the President arrives.
