A contingent of military and police personnel has reportedly taken control of the premises of Northern Ashanti Mines at Konongo in the Ashanti Region, with staff allegedly directed to vacate the facility with immediate effect.The operation reportedly began at dawn on Thursday, October 22, 2026, with the mining company said to be under siege.
