Ghanaian rapper Edem has officially confirmed the date and venue for Edemfest 26, set for Saturday, 7 November 2026, at Emancipation Beach in Keta, Volta Region.

The announcement, shared widely on social media this week through promotional posters, comes from the artist’s Volta Regime Music Group (VRMG) in partnership with PRG Africa.

One poster features Edem in a black-and-white portrait with sunglasses and braided hair against a red-and-black backdrop, while a second highlights award-winning MC and broadcaster Kojo Manuel as a live performer. Both carry the event details clearly: “Sat. 7th – Nov. 2026” at Emancipation Beach, Keta.

Edem, whose full name is Denning Edem Hotor and who is also known as Ayigbe Edem or Goget’em, hails from the Volta Region. Born in Dzodze, he has long been celebrated for pioneering the use of the Ewe language in mainstream Ghanaian hip-hop and hiplife.

His music frequently blends local cultural pride with contemporary sounds, and he has built a career spanning more than 15 years with albums such as The Volta Regime and multiple awards, including recognition at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and international honors.

Edemfest has become one of his signature events, typically staged outside Accra to bring large-scale entertainment and cultural celebration back to his home region. A previous edition in 2023 at Ho Jubilee Park drew tens of thousands of attendees and featured a full live band performance that stretched into the early morning.

Organizers at the time described the festival as an opportunity to deliver live music, cultural integration, and community support.

The 2026 edition returns the event to Keta’s Emancipation Beach, a coastal location that has hosted other major activities in the Volta Region. The timing places Edemfest within the broader early-November cultural calendar of the Anlo-Ewe people, which includes the traditional Hogbetsotso Festival.

In the same period, the Tsadidi Street Art Festival is scheduled for 6–8 November in Keta, creating a concentration of arts and cultural programming along the coast.

Kojo Manuel’s confirmed appearance adds further anticipation. The multi-award-winning MC, hypeman, and radio host has collaborated with Edem on the 2026 single “Gota,” a high-energy track that also features Morgan Nero, Kpese Boy, and Chief One.

The song, whose Ewe title translates roughly to “we’re outside,” has circulated widely and become a popular social expression. Manuel recently performed the track with Edem and publicly expressed excitement about the Keta date.

Details beyond the date, venue, and initial performers remain limited at this stage. Ticketing information, full line-up, and production partners have not yet been released. Past editions of Edemfest have grown from free or low-barrier community events into larger productions that incorporate live bands, supporting acts, and elements of regional culture.

Organizers have previously partnered with local foundations for community outreach, particularly initiatives supporting children in the Volta Region.

Keta itself offers a distinctive setting. The coastal town is known for its beach, lagoon, and historical sites including Fort Prinzenstein. Emancipation Beach has served as a venue for both recreational and competitive events, including recent beach soccer matches.

Holding a major music festival there is expected to draw visitors from Accra, other parts of Ghana, and the diaspora, boosting local activity during the festive season.

Edem has maintained a strong connection to his roots throughout his career. He has used his platform to elevate Ewe language and Volta Region identity in Ghanaian popular music while achieving national and international stages, including a solo performance at New York’s SummerStage festival earlier in 2026.

Fans and regional cultural accounts have welcomed the Keta announcement as a homecoming event that continues that trajectory.

As of late October 2026, the promotional materials released by VRMG and PRG Africa serve as the primary public confirmation. Social media reactions from fans in the Volta Region and beyond have been enthusiastic, with many marking the date and expressing plans to attend.

Further announcements regarding the complete artist roster, ticket sales, and supporting activities are expected in the coming weeks as the event approaches.

Edemfest 26 positions itself as both a music concert and a regional celebration. By choosing Emancipation Beach in Keta on 7 November, Edem and his team are aligning a major entertainment production with the cultural rhythms of the Volta Region at a time when multiple festivals and community events converge.

For many in Ghana’s music scene, the date already stands as one of the notable live events on the late-2026 calendar.
