Atwoli Changes Tune On Edwin Sifuna’s Presidency, Advises Him To Do This Ahead Of 2027

Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna will be vying for the presidential seat for the first time and he is determined to beat President William Ruto. The Equitable Party(TEP) leader has risen quickly from being secretary general of ODM to the level of vying for the top seat, something that have surprised many vocal leaders countrywide.

Ahead of his presidential bid, COTU secretary Francis Atwoli has advised Edwin Sifuna to avoid former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua as he prepares to face President Ruto in August elections. Atwoli says that Sifuna aligning with Gachagua will be a direct win for Ruto given the track record of the former second in command who got impeached in 2024.

This comes a few days after Sifuna met with Democracy for the Citizens party leader Rigathi Gachagua on his return from the US tour at his Wamunyoro residence. Do you think Sifuna aligning with Gachagua could disadvantage his state house journey?
