Wahome Predicts What The High Court Will Rule On Gachagua’s Impeachment
Commentator Wahome Thuku has predicted that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua will win his case at the Court of Appeal. According to him, the court will nullify the impeachment and give Gachagua the green light to run for president in 2027. He ended his post with a smiling emoji, which suggests he is confident about how things will turn out.
Thuku did not give legal reasons for his forecast, and he did not say what he based it on. It is his own reading of the situation, and the court has not yet delivered any decision that confirms it. Legal matters of this kind can take unexpected turns, so his claim remains a prediction and nothing more.
The remark follows an earlier post in which he said Gachagua would be cleared on appeal. That post came with an online poll asking Kenyans who they would back between the former deputy president and President William Ruto. Thuku said that if Gachagua won the poll, he should be the sole candidate of the opposition in 2027.
Gachagua’s impeachment has been one of the most talked about political events in recent times, and it has shaped the opposition’s plans ahead of the next election. His supporters insist that the process was unfair and that the courts will eventually restore his political standing. Critics argue that the decision was made through the proper channels and should be respected.
Whatever the court decides will have a major effect on the race. A favourable ruling would remove a big obstacle from his path and strengthen his hand within the opposition, while an unfavourable one would force him to rethink his options. For now, Thuku’s words have given his followers another reason to debate the matter online.
