Swallows Steering Committee Demands Answers Over Walter Mokoena’s Reported Club Revival

The Dube Birds Supporters and Shareholders Steering Committee has called for clarity following claims that Moroka Swallows has been revived under the name Moroka Swallows SC by former sports broadcaster and businessman Walter Mokoena.

The committee released a statement expressing concern over the reported development and seeking answers regarding the circumstances surrounding the club’s supposed revival.

The announcement has raised questions among supporters and shareholders, particularly regarding the process behind the move and the future direction of the historic South African football club.

Moroka Swallows, widely known as the Dube Birds, has a significant place in South African football history. Any attempt to revive the club under a new structure or name is therefore likely to attract attention from its loyal supporters and other stakeholders.

The steering committee’s response indicates that it wants greater transparency regarding Mokoena’s reported involvement and the steps taken to establish Moroka Swallows SC. The group is seeking explanations to help clarify the situation and address concerns surrounding the club’s status.

The development also highlights the importance of communication between those claiming responsibility for the club’s revival and the supporters and shareholders who remain invested in its future.

While the reported revival could represent an opportunity to restore the club’s presence in South African football, questions about its legitimacy, leadership and organisational arrangements need to be addressed before stakeholders can fully understand what the move means.

The committee’s statement is expected to keep attention focused on the unfolding situation as supporters await further clarification from Mokoena.

For now, the central issue remains the need for clear answers about the reported establishment of Moroka Swallows SC and what it means for the future of the Dube Birds.
