“Spirit Ya Baba Haiwezi Kaa Pamoja na Gachagua” Wanga Fires Salvos After Sifuna’s Mathira Meeting

Orange Democratic Movement National Chairperson and Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has issued a scathing rebuke against former ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna following his consultative meeting with Rigathi Gachagua in Wamunyoro.

Speaking at a public engagement, the vocal ODM leader has dismissed the visiting Linda Mwananchi brigade for attempting to associate their new political maneuvers with the ideological legacy of the party.

In a fierce verbal attack, Wanga has declared that the political spirit and reformist vision of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, affectionately known as “Baba” cannot coexist with Gachagua’s political agenda.

She has mocked Sifuna and his delegation for traveling to Mathira, asserting that their outreach has merely proven their inability to fracture or weaken the established ODM structure.

Wanga has emphasized that the broad-based movement has remained unbothered by these external realignments.

Furthermore, Wanga has reiterated that ODM will maintain a strict boundary against leaders who choose to associate or build political partnerships with Gachagua ahead of the 2027 General Election.

She has insisted that the party leadership has resolved to uphold national unity and broad-based governance rather than pursuing opportunistic regional pacts.

Her uncompromising stance has further exposed the deepening rift between mainstream ODM loyalists and breakaway figures seeking alternative opposition coalitions.

By drawing a firm line in the sand, Wanga has signaled that any collaboration with Gachagua will carry severe political consequences within traditional party strongholds.

As campaign machinery continues to take shape across the nation, this sharp exchange has demonstrated that navigating opposition unity has remained deeply contested and fraught with ideological division.
