Sifuna Announces Next Linda Mwananchi Rally After Meeting Gachagua
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has announced that the Linda Mwananchi Movement will hold its next rally in Kwale County on Saturday, October 31, 2026, as the group expands its nationwide political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Sifuna made the announcement on Wednesday, October 21, through a post on X, promising that the movement would reach every corner of the country. He urged supporters to save the date for the upcoming coastal region rally.
The senator described the planned tour as part of efforts to unite Kenyans across different regions, insisting that the movement represents one people. The Kwale gathering will extend Linda Mwananchi’s outreach beyond areas where it has previously attracted considerable political support.
The announcement followed a meeting on October 20, when Sifuna led members of the Linda Mwananchi leadership to Wamunyoro, the residence of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, for discussions on Kenya’s political future and opposition strategies ahead of the next elections.
Gachagua later confirmed the meeting, describing the discussions as candid and focused on the liberation of Kenya. He also spoke about establishing what he termed the Sixth Administration, signalling a shared interest in pursuing political change before the 2027 polls.
The Wamunyoro meeting has drawn attention because it brought together Gachagua and leaders associated with Linda Mwananchi, whose activities have increasingly featured in discussions about the country’s emerging opposition landscape and possible cooperation among political figures opposed to President William Ruto.
Meanwhile, Linda Mwananchi has continued organising rallies across the country, with Sifuna emerging as its endorsed presidential candidate. The movement’s planned Kwale event marks another step in its campaign to broaden its national presence and attract support from different communities.
Supporters wishing to contribute financially to the movement have been directed to use Paybill number 3033049, entering their phone numbers as account numbers. The fundraising initiative is intended to support Linda Mwananchi’s activities as its political mobilisation efforts continue.
With the Kwale rally approaching, attention will focus on the turnout, messages delivered by movement leaders and whether the recent engagement with Gachagua leads to closer cooperation among opposition figures. The developments come as political activity intensifies ahead of the 2027 General Election.
