Sarkodie Named KNUST Ambassador Ahead of Rapperholic Concert

Kumasi, Ghana Ghanaian rap star Sarkodie has added another milestone to his career after being named an ambassador for the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) .

The development comes as the award-winning musician prepares for his upcoming Rapperholic concert in Kumasi, bringing together two significant aspects of his public life: his influence in Ghanaian entertainment and his growing engagement with institutions beyond the music industry.

According to a report by YEN.com.gh published on October 21, 2026, and also the rapper himself on his official Facebook page, Sarkodie visited the university, where Vice-Chancellor Professor Christian Agyare received him at his office. The visit included an introduction to the institution’s history and the presentation of a gift.

The ambassadorial appointment places Sarkodie in a new relationship with one of Ghana’s prominent public universities. Over the years, the rapper has built a strong reputation through his music, performances and influence on Ghana’s entertainment scene. His recognition by KNUST adds another chapter to his public journey.

However, the specific responsibilities attached to his new role have not been detailed in the report. Further information from the university would help clarify the initiatives or activities he may be expected to support.

The announcement also comes ahead of Sarkodie’s scheduled Rapperholic concert at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on October 24, 2026.

The event is expected to draw attention from fans eager to see the rapper perform in the Ashanti regional capital. With the concert approaching, the KNUST announcement has given followers another reason to discuss the musician’s activities this week.

Sarkodie’s latest recognition highlights the different ways prominent entertainers can engage with organisations outside their usual professional spaces. For KNUST, the appointment offers an opportunity to associate with a widely recognised Ghanaian musician. For Sarkodie, it represents a new public role alongside his established music career.

The details of any future activities connected to the appointment remain to be confirmed.
