The Parliament of Ghana will officially reconvene early next month to kick off its latest round of deliberations. Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin issued an official directive summoning lawmakers to return to the capital city.

The return marks the start of the Third Meeting of the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic. The scheduled gathering will take place at Parliament House in Accra. Formal proceedings will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

Constitutional Mandate and Official Order

The Speaker invoked specific parliamentary guidelines to formally summon members back to the chamber. Speaker Bagbin issued the official notice on October 20 under Order 58 of Parliament’s Standing Orders.

The procedural rule authorizes the leader of the House to dictate the commencement dates for legislative sittings. The invocation ensures that all constitutional requirements are satisfied as the legislative body returns to active duty.

Key Legislative Agenda and Oversight Duties

Upon their return, lawmakers face an extensive workload centered on national governance. Parliamentarians will gather to evaluate legislative proposals and perform institutional oversight of government activities.

The upcoming sitting represents a crucial window for passing pending bills and reviewing executive decisions. Members will also scrutinize public policy initiatives to ensure compliance with national standards.

Anticipation Surrounding Public Agenda Details

While the date and location are set, specific policy items remain under wraps. Formal details regarding the exact business to be considered during the meeting are yet to be announced.

Parliamentary leadership will release the official order paper in the coming days. The document will outline the specific bills, ministerial briefings, and public petitions slated for deliberation throughout the session.

As the reconvening date approaches, citizens and policy analysts alike maintain close attention on Parliament House, eagerly awaiting the legislative priorities that will define the nation’s governance path for the remainder of the year.
