Obuasi SHTS Scandal: PV Jantuah Dadson Demands Probe Into Headmaster’s Resignation

Ghanaian development economist and National Democratic Congress (NDC) figure PV Jantuah Dadson has called for an investigation into the reported resignation of Obuasi Senior High Technical School (SHTS) headmaster Zakaria Abdulai as chairman of the school’s Old Students’ Association.

Dadson, a member of the association, wants the reasons behind Abdulai’s reported decision to step down established, particularly amid ongoing sexual abuse allegations against the headmaster.

He has questioned whether the resignation was linked to the allegations, calling for clarity on the circumstances that led to the decision.

“What informed him to resign as chairman of the old students’ association? Was it connected to his current alleged crime? What was the reason for his resignation?” Dadson questioned.

Dadson also criticised the influence of religious identity on public accountability, arguing that individuals should be held responsible for their conduct regardless of their religious affiliations.

He attributed some of Ghana’s development challenges to the behaviour of certain Christians and Muslims, stressing the need for greater personal responsibility.

The NDC figure further urged Abdulai to publicly address the allegations against him and defend himself if the claims were unfounded.
