NSCIA calls for calm, vigilance amidst Ebola case in FCT, urges enlightenment by Chief Imams, Islamic scholars, others

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), under the leadership of its President-General and Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, notes with grave concern the confirmation of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in Nigeria.The Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, had on Tuesday 20 October, 2026, in a statement announced the discovery following laboratory confirmation of a case in Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
