I’m Not A Thief The NDC Os Scared Now Because Of The Unity Within The NPP By Kojo Bamba
New Patriotic Party National First Vice Chairman Kojo Bamba has dismissed accusations that he is a thief and claimed the National Democratic Congress is now worried because of the growing unity within the NPP.Coop Media graphic (21 October 2026); comments by Kojo Bamba, NPP National First Vice Chairman.
Speaking after the party’s thanksgiving services, Bamba said: “I’m Not a Thief, The NDC Is Scared Now Because Of The Unity Within The NPP.”
The comments come amid online attacks on the newly elected First Vice Chairman. Some critics have labelled him a “phone thief” and made other personal allegations. In a recent video, Bamba responded strongly, saying he would leave his accusers in the hands of his ancestors and traditional forces rather than take them to court.
Bamba, who was elected at the NPP National Delegates Conference in Kumasi earlier this month, has repeatedly called for unity within the party. In messages shared after the thanksgiving service, he stressed that the party’s greatest strength is its unity and that members must remain hopeful and committed to rebuilding ahead of the 2028 elections.
The NPP held its National Thanksgiving Service in Sunyani, where party leaders, including former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, gathered to give thanks and chart a path forward after the 2024 election defeat. Bamba has been among those pushing the message that internal cohesion is key to the party’s recovery.
His rise from a grassroots activist and former bodyguard to National First Vice Chairman has attracted both support and criticism. Some within the NDC have downplayed his election, while others have expressed concern about the energy he brings to the opposition ranks.
Bamba’s latest remarks reflect the ongoing political exchanges between the two major parties. While the NPP focuses on healing internal divisions and projecting unity, the NDC continues to defend its record in government.
Whether the unity Bamba speaks of will translate into stronger opposition performance remains to be seen. For now, his message is clear: the NPP is coming together, and that development should worry the ruling party.
