I Have No Reason To Fight You – Shatta Wale Begs Slim Buster To Stop War With SM Fans

According to a report by Ghbase News on Wednesday October 21, 2026, Ghanaian dancehall musician Shatta Wale has appealed to veteran musician Slim Buster to bring an end to his ongoing exchanges with members of the Shatta Movement (SM) fanbase, insisting that he has no intention of disrespecting or engaging in a feud with him.

The appeal comes amid growing tensions following Slim Buster’s recent comments about Shatta Wale, his musical abilities and the culture surrounding fanbases in Ghana’s music industry.

Slim Buster has questioned claims about Shatta Wale’s superiority in the music business, arguing that the dancehall star is not more talented than himself, Samini or Stonebwoy.

The veteran musician has also claimed to be wealthier than Shatta Wale and described the SM boss as a “small boy” in comparison to himself.

His remarks have generated discussions among music fans, particularly members of the Shatta Movement, many of whom have taken to social media to defend their idol.

Reacting to the controversy, Shatta Wale expressed surprise that Slim Buster, whom he regards as a senior figure in the music industry, was allowing online discussions to influence his relationship with fans.

In a social media post sighted by Ghbase News, the dancehall musician maintained that he had never intended to disrespect the veteran singer and questioned why the situation had escalated into an exchange involving his fanbase.

“Slim Buster, please, you know very well that I would never disrespect you. In fact, I am quite shocked at how you are allowing certain things happening on the internet to get to you,” Shatta Wale stated.

The musician suggested that information or comments Slim Buster might have encountered online could have contributed to the tensions, potentially prompting him to respond to members of the Shatta Movement.

Shatta Wale, however, was keen to distance himself from the controversy, stressing that he had no personal issues with Slim Buster and did not consider the veteran musician an enemy.

He appealed to Slim Buster not to hold him responsible for the exchanges between the veteran singer and his supporters, insisting that there was no justification for the two musicians to engage in unnecessary hostility.

“I will never come at you with disrespect or hostility. Instead, I would sincerely plead with you to stop treating me as though I started this whole situation.

“I have no reason to fight you, and I believe we should know better than to allow social media narratives to create unnecessary misunderstandings between us,” he added.

The dancehall star also highlighted the loyalty of his supporters, explaining that members of the Shatta Movement were likely to remain unhappy with Slim Buster because they had not witnessed him directly attack the veteran musician.

According to Shatta Wale, his fans had not seen or heard him make disrespectful remarks against Slim Buster, making it difficult for them to understand why the disagreement had developed into an online confrontation.

“My fans are loyal and won’t forgive you since they never heard or saw me come at you,” he stated.

His comments appeared to be an attempt to calm the situation while making it clear that the growing tension between Slim Buster and SM fans was not something he wanted to encourage.

Shatta Wale further advised the veteran musician to develop a better understanding of social media dynamics, noting that public figures often encounter criticism, provocation and differing opinions online.

He argued that responding to every comment or disagreement could create unnecessary controversy, particularly when the exchanges involve established musicians and their respective fanbases.

“With all due respect, please put an end to this and rather take some time to understand how the internet works and how best to handle it.

“The internet is not an easy place, and not every comment deserves a reaction,” he said.

Shatta Wale’s message also reflected his position that disagreements on social media should not be allowed to undermine relationships between musicians who have contributed to Ghana’s entertainment industry across different generations.

While acknowledging Slim Buster’s seniority, the SM boss maintained that the issue could be resolved without further confrontation if both sides avoided allowing online commentary to dictate their actions.

He concluded his appeal by describing his remarks as sincere advice from a younger musician to a respected senior colleague, rather than an attempt to attract public attention or generate online trends.

“I say this with nothing but respect for you. This is not for trends but a little advice from a younger brother to the senior,” he concluded.

The development has added another layer to the ongoing conversation about rivalries among Ghanaian musicians, the influence of loyal fanbases and the role social media plays in shaping public perceptions of artists.

For Shatta Wale, however, the priority appears to be preventing the disagreement from escalating further.

His appeal suggests that he wants Slim Buster to reconsider his exchanges with SM supporters and allow the matter to end without creating further divisions within the music fraternity.
