Barcelona midfield ace reaches 100 appearances for club against PSG
According to a report by Barca Universal on Tuesday October 20, 2026, Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo reached a major milestone in his career on Tuesday night, making his 100th official appearance for the Catalan club in their UEFA Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain.
However, the occasion ended in disappointment as Barcelona suffered a 4-2 defeat to the French champions at the Parc des Princes.
Olmo was named in Hansi Flick’s starting XI for the European encounter, reaching the landmark in his third season since returning to his boyhood club in the summer of 2024 from RB Leipzig.
The 28-year-old joined Barcelona’s list of centurions, following defender Gerard MartĂn, who had reached the same milestone against Getafe just days earlier.
Olmo’s 100 appearances have been spread across three campaigns. He featured 39 times in the 2024/25 season, made 49 appearances in 2025/26 and had played 12 matches in the current campaign before the PSG encounter.
His record includes 67 La Liga appearances, in which he has scored 18 goals, and 21 Champions League outings, with three goals. He has also featured eight times in the Copa del Rey and three times in the Spanish Super Cup.
Since returning to Barcelona, Olmo has demonstrated his versatility by operating as a central midfielder, an attacking midfielder and, when required, a centre-forward. His ability to play in different positions has helped him remain an important option for Flick, despite competition for places with fellow Spaniard FermĂn LĂłpez.
Olmo’s return to Barcelona began memorably on August 27, 2024, when he made his debut against Rayo Vallecano. Coming on as a substitute, he scored the winning goal in a 2-1 victory.
He subsequently scored against Real Valladolid and Girona before a muscle injury interrupted his early progress. Registration difficulties had also prevented him from featuring in Barcelona’s opening two league fixtures of that season.
The midfielder finished his first campaign back at the club with 12 goals across competitions before scoring eight times during the 2025/26 season.
He had scored once in the current campaign before the PSG match, finding the net against Real Betis and ending a seven-month goalscoring drought.
Despite the disappointing result in Paris, Olmo’s 100th appearance represents a significant achievement in his Barcelona career. He has already won two La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and two Spanish Super Cups with the club.
However, the milestone was overshadowed further when Olmo was forced off in the 27th minute following a collision with PSG midfielder Vitinha. He was replaced by FermĂn LĂłpez, while Barcelona await further clarity on the nature and severity of his injury.
