1964:When I Returned From A Drama I Didn’t Know My Brother Laid Ambush For Me,I Was Beaten Up—Kosoko

In an exclusive interview with Biola Adebayo Ent, veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko stated that he began acting at the age of 10 in 1964.

Kosoko said his neighbour who belonged to a theatre group invited him to audition for a role in a stage play and he went for the audition. He said he won the role but his mother beat him up when he returned home

Kosoko said he eventually joined other actors to perform the stage play and it was broadcasted on television a few minutes later. He said his brother and some people beat him up when he returned home

In Kosoko’s words: “I did not know that they had watched it and when I dropped some of the people around cheered me. Rather than being careful, I was walking triumphantly like a champion. I did not know that my brother has laid ambush, they got me and beat me up. That day was even worse because it was outside”
