Obi’s Aide Reacts To Moment Kwnkwasiyya Members Are Seen With Sticks While Following Kwankwaso

A social media post by Esther Umoh, a media aide to Peter Obi, has attracted attention after she commented on a video showing members of the Kwankwasiyya Movement carrying sticks during a political gathering in Kano State.

Umoh shared her reaction on her official X account on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, directing attention to the items held by some supporters accompanying Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

The footage reportedly emerged following a visit by Kwankwaso and other prominent members of the party to Kiru Local Government Area of Kano State. During the visit, several individuals walking alongside the political leaders were seen holding stick-like objects.

Reacting to the circulating video, Umoh posted a brief question that encouraged viewers to look closely at the footage and consider what the individuals were holding. Here is the statement she shared on her official X account: “What do you see in their hands”.

Her comment placed the objects visible in the video at the centre of attention, prompting interest in the circumstances surrounding the gathering. However, she did not provide additional information about the items or explain why the supporters were carrying them.

The footage has also drawn attention to the political figures present at the event, particularly Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano State and a prominent figure in the state’s political affairs.

The Kwankwasiyya Movement is associated with Kwankwaso’s political following and has remained an important presence in Kano’s political environment. Its members frequently attract public attention during political engagements involving the former governor and his associates.

Nevertheless, the available footage does not independently establish the purpose for which the sticks were being carried. Any conclusions about the intentions of the individuals involved would therefore require further information beyond what is visible in the video.
