‘I want goals, assists and to be effective’ – Thomas-Asante outlines Premier League ambitions
Ghana forward Brandon Thomas-Asante has set his sights on becoming one of the Premier League’s top performers this season as he looks to improve his goalscoring and assist contributions for Coventry City.
The 27-year-old outlined his ambitions after providing an assist during Coventry’s 3-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night, marking his fourth start of the campaign.
Thomas-Asante has featured in seven league matches since Coventry’s promotion to the English top flight, registering two goal contributions as he continues to adapt to life in the Premier League.
Despite Coventry’s challenging start to the season, the Ghana international remains focused on improving his performances and making a bigger impact in attack.
“I want to be the best. So that starts with getting goals, getting assists and being effective,” Thomas-Asante said after the defeat.
“On an individual performance level, I want to make sure I’m physically imposing myself on games and showing my technical quality as well.
“But, you know, it’s early days, and we’re going to keep on building,” he added.
Coventry have struggled since their return to the Premier League, managing just two victories from their opening seven matches.
The Sky Blues currently sit 17th on the table, only one point above the relegation zone, as they prepare for a demanding campaign in England’s top division.
