Husband Locked Up — Nana Akua Addo’s Husband Remanded As Court Hands Her Children To Her
The domestic violence case involving fashion icon Nana Akua Addo has taken a new and serious turn.
Her husband, Harold Norman, has reportedly been remanded by the court as investigations continue into allegations of physical, emotional and economic abuse.
Nana Akua Addo, whose real name is Rosemond Akua Adobea, had petitioned the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on August 27, 2026, accusing her husband of abusing her for a long time.
The case blew up after videos went viral on social media. One video showed Nana Akua Addo receiving medical treatment with visible injuries, including a swollen lip. Another disturbing video, which circulated on X on October 6, allegedly showed Harold Norman slapping their daughter when Nana Akua tried to defend the child.
Following public outcry, the Ghana Police Service through the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) picked up Harold Norman. He was first arrested and granted police enquiry bail on August 29, but later taken into custody again.
Police said the couple had already come to the attention of DOVVSU at Lakeside and Ministries Police Stations back in July 2026 over domestic issues.
In a statement on October 7, the CID said Harold Norman was due to be put before court but his lawyer claimed he was admitted at the hospital and could not appear. DOVVSU officers visited the hospital to verify the claim and said he would be arraigned immediately after discharge.
Now, reports indicate he has been remanded as the court process begins.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service says it is working with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection to provide social welfare support for Nana Akua Addo and her children. Social welfare officers are expected to monitor the children, and Nana Akua Addo is expected to take full custody of them while the case continues.
The couple, who share two daughters, formalized their marriage in a private civil ceremony in 2022.
The police say they remain committed to protecting victims of domestic violence and ensuring justice is served.
