BAY VS ARS: Arsenal’s Confirmed Team News And Best Possible Starting Line-up Against Bayern Munich
According to a report by London Evening Standard on Tuesday October 20, 2026, Noni Madueke has strengthened his chances of starting for Arsenal against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night after making an immediate impact off the bench against Nottingham Forest.
Mikel Artetaâs team travel to Germany for a highly anticipated Champions League meeting with Vincent Kompanyâs Bayern side. The Arsenal manager must decide whether to change his starting lineup following Sundayâs Premier League victory.
Eberechi Eze started on the left wing against Nottingham Forest but struggled to influence proceedings and was substituted at half-time. Madueke replaced him and scored the winning goal, continuing to impress whenever given opportunities on that flank.
Although Arteta is not expected to make significant changes, Arsenal have sufficient squad depth to rotate selected positions without substantially weakening the team. Jurrien Timber could return at right-back as he continues sharing responsibilities with Ben White.
Myles Lewis-Skelly is also hoping to earn a midfield opportunity ahead of Bruno GuimarĂŁes. Meanwhile, Martin Zubimendi is available again after recovering from a minor hamstring problem. Arteta confirmed that the midfielder âwill be involvedâ against Bayern.
However, Zubimendi has received limited playing time this season, making a starting position unlikely for what could be Arsenalâs most demanding test of the campaign so far.
Arteta also faces a decision in attack, with Kai Havertz struggling to rediscover his best form since the international break. Viktor GyĂśkeres has started both of Arsenalâs Champions League matches but is still searching for his first goal for the club this season.
Despite GyĂśkeresâ involvement in Europe, Havertz remains a strong candidate to lead the attack because Arteta frequently trusts him in important matches. The manager must determine which forward offers the best option against Bayern.
Defensively, Piero Hincapie remains unavailable because of an ankle injury. However, Arteta suggested the defender could return for Saturdayâs Premier League match against Everton if he manages to train over the coming days.
âIf he is able to train the next few days he can be available for Everton, which is great news,â Arteta said.
Predicted Arsenal XI: Raya; Timber, Konsa, Gabriel, Calafiori; Rice, Lewis-Skelly; Saka, Ădegaard, Madueke; Havertz.
Injured: William Saliba, Piero Hincapie and Christos Tzolis.
