Bad News for Ruto as Details Emerge About What Raila’s Family Has Allegedly Been Told Ahead of 2027

Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai has sparked fresh political discussion after making claims about former President Uhuru Kenyatta, Mama Ida Odinga and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

In his remarks, Alai alleged that Uhuru had influenced who some people recognise as “Baba” while claiming that some individuals had convinced Ida Odinga that Gachagua was the best inspiration they could have.

The claims come at a time when political alliances are attracting attention ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Alai’s comments have raised questions about the changing relationships among leaders who were previously associated with different political camps. However, his statements remain allegations, and no evidence was presented in the remarks to establish that Uhuru or Ida had taken the actions he described.

The comments also come shortly after Gachagua hosted Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and members of the Linda Mwananchi movement at his Wamunyoro residence in Nyeri County on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

The delegation included Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and other political figures associated with the movement.

Gachagua welcomed the visitors and expressed hope that their gathering would produce positive results. The meeting fuelled further discussion about possible cooperation between the Democracy for the Citizens Party and Linda Mwananchi ahead of the next election.

Although the meeting brought together leaders from different political backgrounds, neither side announced a formal coalition agreement following the engagement.

Uhuru, who served as Kenya’s president from 2013 to 2022, remains a significant figure in discussions surrounding the country’s political future. Ida Odinga, meanwhile, continues to attract public attention following the death of her husband, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, in October 2025.

Alai’s latest remarks add another layer to the ongoing debate over political influence, loyalty and the direction of the opposition.

With the 2027 elections approaching, Kenyans will be watching how these relationships develop and whether the latest engagements lead to formal political partnerships.

What do you make of Robert Alai’s claims amid the growing political realignments?
