Sowore Shares Update On Court Trial, Reveals How His Lawyer Thoroughly Skewered DSS Witness During Cross-Examination

Omoyele Sowore, the African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, has shared an update on his ongoing trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja over his description of President Bola Tinubu as a criminal, claiming that his lawyer, Olumide-Fusika, SAN, thoroughly challenged a Department of State Services (DSS) witness during cross-examination.

Sowore disclosed this in a video posted on his X handle, showing him leaving the court premises alongside his supporters, who were singing and chanting “Solidarity Forever,” a popular song associated with labour movements and collective resistance.

In his post, the activist said he left the court in high spirits after the day’s proceedings, praising his lawyer’s performance during the cross-examination of the DSS witness.

“LIVE: Leaving the Federal High Court in Abuja in high spirits after today’s ‘Tinubu Is a Criminal’ trial,” Sowore wrote.

“Our counsel, Olumide-Fusika, SAN, thoroughly skewered the DSS witness during cross-examination, while the massive turnout of our people demonstrated what it means to stand firm in the face of oppression,” he added.

The trial centres on Sowore’s use of the phrase “Tinubu is a criminal,” which has become the focus of the legal proceedings against him.

The AAC chieftain, known for his activism and calls for political change, has continued to use his social media platforms to update supporters on the case and document developments surrounding his court appearances.

The video showed Sowore and his supporters leaving the court premises in a celebratory mood, chanting and singing together.

However, Sowore’s description of the cross-examination as a thorough challenge to the DSS witness reflects his account of the proceedings. His post did not provide details of the witness’s testimony or the specific questions asked by his lawyer.

The activist ended his post with the hashtag #RevolutionNow, associated with his political movement.
