Mother’s Disturbing 1st Words Revealed After She Killed Her Husband and Son at Great Wolf Lodge
Metallica Rose Harrison’s disturbing first words after she killed her husband and 3-year-old son at a Great Wolf Lodge have been revealed.
After she killed her husband, Charles Harrison, and their son, Tristan, in their hotel room on October 12, Metallica, 27, called 911. Authorities reported to the resort in Scotrun, Pennsylvania, to find her with slashes on her wrists and neck. Police officers said that she told them she was “suicidal, not stupid,” according to an affidavit obtained by WNEP.
Additionally, Metallica told authorities that she worked hard to be “the best mother” and “the best wife.”
“My husband and son are already gone in the bed in the living room. They’re already gone, I’m sorry,” Metallica told the 911 operator when she called to report that she killed Charles, 36, and Tristan.
Once EMS personnel arrived at the scene, Metallica reportedly said that she worked “so hard” every day “to be the best person.” She continued, “It wasn’t supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family. That’s what I envisioned since I was a child.”
Metallica was then put in an ambulance, and she said she was “not supposed to be here,” per the affidavit.
As Us previously reported, Charles and Tristan were found dead inside their hotel room after Metallica called 911 to report that she had stabbed her husband multiple times in the chest. Tristan died after he was stabbed one time in the chest.
Investigators searched the family’s hotel room and found two knives, which staff members confirmed were not from the hotel. Authorities also found several bottles of medication and two containers of what appeared to be blood in the room.
After she called 911, Metallica was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal homicide. It is not currently clear if she has entered a plea or retained legal counsel following her arrest.
Metallica, Charles and Tristan checked into the resort on September 21. They extended their reservation on October 5, and changed their plan to check out on Tuesday, October 13.
Following the murders, Charles’ stepmother, April Thetga, told the New York Post that Metallica had tapped Charles’ retirement account to pay for the trip to the resort, a kitchen remodel and other expenses. Metallica also allegedly planned the trip as an early Christmas present for Tristan.
“It was definitely odd, but they’d taken their 401(k) out,” Thetga said. “There was nothing we could do about that.”
Despite the concerning financial decision, Thetga said that Metallica appeared to be in good spirits during the trip.
“She had called, and we’re video-chatting, and then she says she loved us very much, just like she normally would,” she recalled.
