Mbappé Shines as Real Madrid Beat Sevilla 4–1 Ahead of El Clásico

Real Madrid sent a strong message to their rivals with an impressive 4–1 victory over Sevilla on October 18, 2026. Kylian Mbappé scored twice as Madrid secured an important win ahead of their highly anticipated El Clásico clash with Barcelona.

The performance will encourage Madrid supporters as the team prepares for one of the biggest fixtures in Spanish football.

Real Madrid started the match with determination, and Arda Güler opened the scoring in the 30th minute with a strike from outside the penalty area.

Mbappé doubled the advantage seven minutes later, giving Madrid greater control before halftime.

The French forward struck again from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute. Sevilla pulled one goal back through substitute Manu Bueno, but Yan Diomande restored Madrid’s three-goal lead shortly afterwards.

The final score was 4–1, giving Madrid three valuable points.

The result lifted Madrid to third place with 21 points, according to Reuters’ match report. They were six points behind league leaders Barcelona at the time of the report.

Mbappé’s contribution was particularly important because Madrid needed an effective attacking performance with Vinícius Júnior suspended.

Arda Güler also impressed by helping create attacking opportunities, while the team’s four goals demonstrated its ability to threaten Sevilla from different positions.

Madrid’s attention will turn to their upcoming meeting with Barcelona. Matches between these rivals often attract worldwide attention because of their history, quality of players and importance in the LaLiga title race.

Madrid will hope to carry their attacking confidence into the encounter. Barcelona, meanwhile, will want to protect their position near the top of the table.

Although the 4–1 win gives Madrid momentum, it does not guarantee victory in the next match. Both teams will need to perform well on the day.

Can Mbappé Lead Madrid to Another Big Win?

Mbappé’s two goals against Sevilla have given Madrid supporters another reason to be optimistic. However, the challenge against Barcelona will be different, and Madrid must remain disciplined in both attack and defence.

The upcoming El Clásico could have an important effect on the title race as the season develops.

Will Mbappé inspire Madrid to another victory, or will Barcelona respond strongly? Football fans around the world will be watching.
