I Made a Lot of Money Selling Polythene Bags Before God Called Me — Odumeje

Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Indaboski Odumeje, has recounted how he made substantial money selling polythene bags wholesale before what he described as a divine encounter led him to leave the business and focus on his calling. Odumeje made this revelation during an exclusive interview on the Honest Bunch Podcast, aired on Monday, October 19, 2026.

The cleric explained that he learnt the trade through practical experience, working with someone in the business and observing how it operated rather than receiving formal instruction. According to him, he became successful in the business and made considerable money from selling polythene bags in wholesale quantities. “I sell poly bags in wholesale. Not that somebody taught me; we just went there, served somebody and learnt from them,” he said.

Odumeje disclosed that his involvement in the business continued until he experienced what he described as an encounter with God, after which he was instructed not to return to the shop. He said the instruction marked a turning point in his life, as he understood it to mean that his period of making money through business had served its purpose and that he was now expected to concentrate on a different assignment.

He recalled that God told him to stop going to the shop and indicated that he would be shown money through another path. “God appeared one day and told me, ‘Today, I don’t want you to come to this shop again.’ After my encounter, God told me to stop coming to the shop,” he said.

Odumeje added that the encounter changed his direction, as he believed God wanted to use him for a purpose beyond the commercial success he had achieved. “Now, I will show you money. That’s why that encounter moved me. I have shown you money in business. Now, I want to make use of you,” he said.
