Govt rejects link between KP emergency and mineral wealth

ISLAMABAD: Parliamentary Affairs Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has rejected allegations that the imposition of an emergency and governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is linked to the province’s mineral wealth, insisting that the measures were aimed at restoring peace and countering terrorism.Speaking in a TV talk show, Mr Chaudhry said political parties were linking the emergency to mineral extraction because they believed the move was part of a power struggle.
