EPL Table After Tottenham Beat Coventry City 3-1

According to a report by BBC SPORT on Monday October 19, 2026, Tottenham secured a 3-1 victory over Coventry City on Monday, October 19, after James Maddison and Omar Marmoush scored before Ben Davies sealed the result in stoppage time.

Mohammed Kudus provided an assist, while Coventry briefly threatened a comeback after Jack Rudoni equalised early in the second half.

The hosts made a bright start and took the lead in the 14th minute through Maddison. Kudus supplied the pass, allowing the midfielder to unleash a powerful effort from the edge of the penalty area into the top-left corner.

Tottenham continued to create opportunities, with Dominic Solanke and Maddison both testing Coventry’s defence. Solanke also had a goal ruled out for offside in the 19th minute, while Kudus was caught offside earlier in the contest.

Coventry struggled to find an equaliser before the break, although they threatened through set pieces and attempts from Sidiki Cherif and Tatsuhiro Sakamoto. The visitors went into half-time trailing by a goal despite showing occasional attacking intent.

Frank Lampard’s side responded immediately after the restart. Rudoni reacted quickest to a rebound inside the penalty area in the 49th minute and fired the ball into the net to restore parity.

However, Tottenham regained their advantage nine minutes later. Andrew Robertson delivered a pass towards Marmoush, who controlled the ball near the edge of the penalty area before producing a precise finish into the bottom-right corner.

The hosts looked to extend their lead, with Sandro Tonali coming close on two occasions and Mateus Fernandes forcing a fine save from Coventry goalkeeper Carl Rushworth. Kudus also missed an opportunity when his effort from inside the penalty area sailed over the crossbar.

Tottenham suffered injury concerns during the closing stages, with Robertson and Tosin Adarabioyo forced off. Kudus also left the pitch after sustaining an injury, while Ben Davies, who had replaced Robertson, eventually made a decisive contribution.

Davies put the result beyond doubt in the 96th minute, connecting with a pass from Solanke before driving a superb volley into the net from the edge of the box. The final whistle confirmed a 3-1 victory for Tottenham after a competitive encounter.
