Dembélé Has Always Impressed Me, The Things He Did In Training Were Beyond Normal –Pedri

According to a post by Fabrizio Romano on Monday, October 19, 2026, Barcelona midfielder Pedri has praised Ousmane Dembélé’s exceptional ability, explaining how the French forward’s consistency at Paris Saint-Germain helped him reach another level.

Pedri, who previously played alongside Dembélé at Barcelona, said the forward had impressed him long before his rise at PSG.

He recalled seeing Dembélé perform remarkable things during training sessions, highlighting the quality he believed the winger possessed.

“Dembélé? Ous has always impressed me. The things he did in training were beyond what any normal player could do,” Pedri said.

The Spain international added that he regularly reminded Dembélé of his talent and the qualities that set him apart from other players.

“I always told him he had incredible qualities and was a very special player,” he added.

According to Pedri, Dembélé’s time at Barcelona showed glimpses of his ability, although his performances were not always consistent.

He believes the forward took a major step forward after moving to Paris Saint-Germain, where he began delivering more regularly.

“When he arrived at PSG, he exploded and we saw the real Ous. At Barcelona, he showed his quality, but only in certain periods. He was more inconsistent. That consistency is what made him win the Ballon d’Or,” Pedri said.

His comments identify consistency as a key difference in Dembélé’s development. While the Frenchman had already demonstrated his technical ability at Barcelona, Pedri believes his performances at PSG became more sustained, helping him reach the highest level of individual recognition.

Beyond his assessment of Dembélé’s career, Pedri also spoke warmly about their relationship and the experience of sharing a team.

“He’s a world-class player and a great friend. I really enjoyed playing with him,” he said.

Pedri’s remarks reflect his longstanding admiration for Dembélé, whom he considers a special talent whose ability became even more evident through greater consistency at PSG.
