Liberty TV ranks as Nigeria’s No. 1 Free-to-Air channel – MPS

Spread the word Liberty Television (Liberty TV) has emerged as Nigeria’s number one Free-to-Air (FTA) television station in the Nigeria Diary Television audience database attributed to Media Planning Services (MPS).

The station’s ranking places it ahead of Arewa24, Trust TV, Global TV Abuja and Tambarin TV, which occupy the second to fifth positions, respectively in the MPS table of free-to-air television stations.

The February 2026 data lists Liberty TV with a total auto base figure of 2,252, compared with 1,146 for Arewa24 and 1,118 for Trust TV.

In a statement announcing its position Wednesday, Liberty TV said its performance reflects audience behaviour patterns, trust metrics, market insights and findings from media evaluation exercises.

The station also highlighted its national reach, credibility and advertising value, while describing these as important factors in its appeal to viewers and advertisers seeking to reach audiences across Nigeria and the wider region.

The ranking provides a measure of Liberty TV’s position in the free-to-air television market, where broadcasters compete for audience attention and advertising revenue.

The station said it maintains its lead as Nigeria’s number one FTA national platform, citing the MPS audience database as the basis for the claim.
